Kon-Tiki 2017 – Local Is Lekker
The Table Bay Rovers were fortunate enough to be involved in the organising of the 2017 Kon-Tiki Fringe competition – and with over 600 Scouts taking part, this was the biggest one yet! The Fringe competition was organise by Devon, one of our Rovers, and various bases, such as Frisbee golf, volleyball, tug-o-war, kneeboard racing and blowdart shooting were run by our Rovers and our friends from other Rover Crews. We were also fortunate enought to have our Rover Scouter involved as the judge for the awesome potjiekos competition that is hosted for the parents that attend.
Please see the official message from the Kontiki Chief Judge:
What a weekend! Well done to 1st Bergvliet for taking both the Raft and Fringe trophies. I hope that all the teams thoroughly enjoyed the competition and are already thinking about next year’s event. I couldn’t have asked for a better Kon-Tiki to be my last as Chief Judge. Thanks to all those that have helped over the last 8 years, there are too many to mention! I look forward to seeing all of you next year. Robbie
