Scouts SA makes great efforts to reward and recognize the exceptional individuals we have the pleasure of working with. These awards are available to any member of Scouts SA (not just our Rovers). The National Award Policy is outlined here.
These Awards are made to all Adult Members and Employees on the completion of the relevant period of Adult service to Scouts SA. Service in Operational positions, (i.e. warranted positions such as a Scouter), in Administrative positions (i.e. appointed positions) in the Scout Movement and Adult service with The Guide Association are recognized as qualifying service. Rovers serving on the Crew EXCO, WC Rover Advisory Council or on the National Rover Advisory Council also have their service considered.
Commendations are awarded in recognition of special short-term interventions in support of SCOUTS South Africa or the community, or acts of service ( e.g.
