2017 CW12 Swimming Gala Instructions
Update (2017/01/24):
Good afternoon Scouters,
As you know, the Gala is this coming Saturday – we can now confirm that the venue will be Milnerton Primary School as usual, and the competition will run from 12h00 until approximately 16h30. Remember, this is an event for Cubs, Scouts and Adults, so bring the family and come have some fun. There will be a tuckshop selling lunches, snacks and cooldrink at the venue.
We would like to issue a gentle reminder for those groups who have not yet paid their R100 entry fees to please do so ASAP, so that we are able to full plan for the correct number of attendees. EFT details are in the letter.
The format of the competition will be the same as last year – please find the rules linked below. Please remember that since last year, 2 participants are allowed to take part in each event (except the relay that only allows 1 team per group) and that participants are allowed to swim for an older age group, eg. a 12 year old is allowed to swim with the 17 year olds, but Cubs cannot swim with Scouts, Scouts cannot swim with adults.

Ahoy Mateys!
The new year is almost here, and it’s time to get our Cubs, Scouts, Scouters and parents back in the pool for the 2017 CW12 District Swimming Gala! But beware, this year the waters be perilous! As is traditional, prizes will be awarded to the top performers in the pack, troop and adult sections, with the Trophy going home with be best overall performing group. Back by popular demand, will be an STA challenge for the land-lubbers, and now this has its own mini-trophy that’s up for grabs (they do not count towards the swimming trophy). So bring your STA kits, and the additional items listed in the letter.
The Gala will take place on Saturday 28 January 2017. The venue will be announced closer to the date – but it will be within our District. Registration will close at 12h00 on the day, and the competition will run until approximately 16h30. There is an entry fee of R100 per group that can be paid by EFT with the details in the letter.
