This was to be our first recreational camp of the year, and the Crew was looking forward to it! With some members of 1st Pinelands and 2nd Kenridge invited to attend with us, we headed off to Le Fut Vineyard. This campsite turned out to be absolutely stunning, and we were able to enjoy the evening sunset from our tents. The camp coincided with Damon’s birthday; the lady-Rovers on the camp decided to buy some cupcake mix and bake a Dutch-oven chocolate cake to make the celebration more special. We were also lucky enough to enjoy a spot of fishing at the local dam – although sadly not lucky enough to catch anything! Even though this was a short overnight stay, we took the time to see the sights in the local town of Paarl – from a visit to the Berg River Brewery to eat a tasty hamburger with chips to seeing the bugs and monkies at Butterfly World, all of us had a spectacular time. In the end, the friendships we made and the conversations we had made this a memorable weekend!
